Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Eduard Nalbandyan, during a joint press conference with Hector Marcos Timerman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, answered the questions given from the journalists, which is presented below:
A journalist from Armenia: “In recent years, the MFA of Turkey and other Turkish high officials speak up about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Especially they mention, that they want to be involved in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and, moreover, they are eager to host negotiations over the issue in Istanbul. Perhaps you are familiar with the statement. What is your position concerning it? Thank you for listening”.
Eduard Nalbandyan: “First of all about the question holding talks in Turkey. What does it mean? You want to say that all the negotiations, which had been before, in many cities of Russia, and throughout the world, had not changed anything, and didn’t succeed since it wasn’t held in Istanbul?
Any intervention or mediation attempt from Turkey toward the conflict is excluded!
The intervention of Turkey to its neighborhood states’ conflicts never brought a positive resolution; moreover, it worsened the situation. I want to stress once again, that not only Armenia urges it, but also many other countries stress that Turkey will not be involved in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
