Lately the director of Zangezur Coal Mining Company Maxim Hakobyan has invited a meeting in Syuniq regional hall, where several school directors and leaders of state bodies took part. Maxim Hakobyan announced that in Kapan local government elections he will support ARP member Ashot Hayrapetyan’s candidacy. The latter confirmed the news in the interview with the correspondent of “168 hours” saying that the meeting really took place and he will really get M. Hakobyan’s support.
Yesterday in the phone interview with the incumbent mayor of Kapan, ARF member Artur Atayan said that he is surprised by the announcement of ZCMC director that on September 9 he will support Ashot Hayrapetyan’s candidacy. To the question of “168 hours” correspondent that after all, how he treats this step of Maxim Hakobyan, he answered: “It’s normal, what can I say? It’s his decision and I respect it, I can give no more commentary on it.” And to the question about Artur Atayan previously announcing that M. Hakobyan will take neutral position, he answered: “Honestly I hoped that he would stay neutral because according to my information he will be the chief of Serzh Sargsyan’s headquarters. I find it right to stay neutral. I am surprised with his decision.”
