Trend news agency reports that from 20 to 22 August the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE led by chairman Riccardo Migliori will visit Georgia. According to the Parliament of Georgia, the vice president Tonino Picula and secretary general Spencer Oliver are included in the delegation.
The page informs that the delegation will become acquainted with pre-election situation in Georgia, and will examine the election campaign of political parties.
They will organize number of meetings of OSCE delegation with representatives of the political spectrum of Georgia, international and local observer organizations, also with members of the election administration, the leadership of the parliament and the diplomatic corps and also with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.
In early July, at the last meeting in Monaco, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly affirmed a resolution in support of Georgia. Russia is to fulfill the agreement of August 2008, according to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, who expresses its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
According to Trend news agency the resolution repeats many of the goals of the Geneva talks, on returning of inwardly displaced persons to their homes and providing free entry of EUMM to the occupied Georgian territories.
