Brett McGurk, the White House’s Middle East and North African affairs coordinator, appealed to the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Iraq to deliver an “urgent call to de-escalate tensions with Israel” to Iran following the attack on its consulate in Damascus.
