Turkey will continue to cooperate and stand in solidarity with brotherly Egypt to stop the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip. This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a joint press conference held in Cairo with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
“Our priority is the early establishment of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the exclave,” said the Turkish leader, calling the attempts to evict the residents of the Gaza Strip from their lands illegal and unacceptable.
The Turkish president added that Ankara is determined to expand contacts with Egypt at all levels to establish peace and stability in the region. He also referred to the prospects for the development of economic relations between Turkey and Egypt.
According to Erdogan, Turkey and Egypt have agreed to increase the trade turnover to 15 billion dollars in the near future. He expressed hope that the countries will join forces to implement joint projects in the field of defense industry.
Erdogan invited his Egyptian counterpart to Turkey. Erdogan expressed confidence that this visit will become a new turning point in the relations between the two countries.
