On May 1is is 1, 2023, from 06:00, the service members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire regime to illegally deprive the lives of the service members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia who were performing their service duty, due to the motive of hatred, intolerance or hostility due to racial, national, ethnic origin, shots were fired from artillery and rifle weapons in the direction of the combat positions of the defense area of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense located in the eastern tip of the RA border.
As a result of those actions, four servicemen of the same military unit who were on combat duty in the combat positions of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense received injuries. The latter were transferred to the military garrison hospital.
In connection with the report received regarding the case, criminal proceedings were initiated in the Fifth Garrison Investigation Department of the Main Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee under the characteristics of clauses 1, 7, 8, and 15 of Article 44-155, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code. /paragraph 4/ (depriving another person of life illegally, which was committed by a person or his close relative or close relative in connection with his state, political, service, professional or public activity or performance of duty by that person, in a manner dangerous to the lives of other persons, a by a group of persons, motivated by hatred, intolerance or enmity caused by racial, national, ethnic or social origin, religion, political or other views or other circumstances of a personal or social nature).
Appropriate measures are being taken in order to find out the circumstances of the incident, to give final legal assessments to the criminal actions of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan. The health condition of the wounded servicemen is assessed as satisfactory.
