The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that on February 21, at the initiative of the EU, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin had a telephone conversation with Toivo Klaar, the EU’s special representative in the South Caucasus.
Discussing the issue of the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, Galuzin noted that Brussels’ decision to deploy an EU civilian mission in Armenia has a transparent geopolitical background, which does not contribute to stability in the South Caucasus. The need for more consensus between Baku and Yerevan on this initiative was emphasized.
