The U.S. Department of State is verifying the report on the arrest of Hall Talayan, a U.S. citizen, in Iran. “There are lots of conflicting reports swirling about on this issue. We’ve reached out through our Swiss protectorate to try to ascertain the facts surrounding this incident,” Mark Toner, U.S. Department of State, told the reporters. The U.S. has also contacted with the Armenian authorities to verify the information. Iran detained an American woman accused of hiding a spying device in her teeth, Iranian newspapers report. Hall Talayan, 55, was held as she tried to cross the border from Armenia without a visa, the reports said. One of the reports said that Ms Talayan had hidden “spying technology or a microphone” in her teeth. According to another report, she told customs officers that the security forces of Armenia would kill her if she was sent back by Iran.
