The head of the international economic relations chamber of the University of Economics Grigor Aghajanyan told the First Armenian News and Analyses that it is hard to say at the current state whether Armenia will join the EU or the Eurasian Union. According to Aghajanyan, the RA wants to have good relations with both structures but it is impossible. Armenia is engaged in the signing of the free trade zone agreement with the EU but it cannot completely deny the Eurasian Union because it is related to Russia.
Aghajanyan concluded that the complementary policy Vartan Oskanian was leading as a MFA today is no more acceptable and that the two parties need a concrete decision from Armenia. There are a number of problems along with the issue of Nagorno Karabakh and Russia being Armenia’s military and strategic partner.
