Before the parliamentary elections in May 2012 the head of “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” educational center Ashot Bleyan mentioned he might put his candidacy for the presidential elections. Today Bleyan told the Armenian First News and Analyses that he changed his mind.
He stated he very well knew how to behave in a presidential post but will not be one. He said the parents of the children attending “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” educational center and he himself do not imagine this educational institution being run without him and that he has to do his job of generation changing and modernization in the educational center to the end. Bleyan added there is another reason as he goes on: he is not leaving the “great politics” because he increases this way his influence in it.
Bleyan says on the one hand there is a lot of discussion of the oligarchic regime the country suffers most, on the other hand they speak of the lack of the public figures who enjoy the people’s trust and respect. He believes it is time there were presidents in each sphere of functioning in the country who will have their influence on the oligarchic authority, limit the latter’s permissiveness and be an influential power in fostering the education, science , economics, culture, state governing, legal system and so on.
Bleyan concluded he has nothing more to bequeath to his grandchildren but the possibility to live a dignified life and waits for nothing but their gratitude as a return.
