Azerbaijani media reports that Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dashgin Shikarov, met with army commander of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Parvez Ashfaq Kayan in order to discuss the cooperation between Azerbaijani and Pakistani armed forces.
As reported, Shikarov handed Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Safar Abiyev’s letter, inviting Parvez Ashfaq Kayani to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in 2013.
The source informs that the General expressed his gratitude for the invitation of Azerbaijani Defense Minister, said he accepts the invitation with great pleasure and will visit Azerbaijan.
He underlined that his country unambiguously supports Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh problem and has not established diplomatic relations with Armenia.
