Armenia must create military-industrial techno park, said the executive president of the union of information technology organizations Karen Vardanyan. According to him, the techno park must be in one of Yerevan’s satellite towns.
It must be noted that nowadays a techno park is being built in Gyumri, there are plans to create techno parks in Vanadzor and Charencavan. But they won’t have military significance.
The construction of military-industrial techno park in Armenia is partly preconditioned by the program of Turkish government and by the severe technological competition in the region. Turkey plans to end the creation of the largest military investigatory techno park in Istanbul in 8-10 years. Istanbul’s techno parks will be the analogy of Silicon valley. The estimates say the techno park will add 10 billion dollars to Turkish budget. More than 30.000 people will work there.
