The Minister of Agriculture of Karabakh Andranik Khachatryan held a meeting on the autumn sowing with the Director of Foundation for rural areas and agriculture Vahram Baghdasaryan and heads of district administrations.
Resources report that at the meeting in Stepanakert dissatisfaction was expressed for the rate of field work, as only 15 thousand hectares of land is plowed yet. However, it was noted that the cultivation of crops continues to be the focus of the state. Fund of assistance to agriculture and the village of NKR is ready to give loans to farmers 80,000 AMD for a hectare, or fuel and fertilizer to such amount. Meanwhile, the population owes above 900 million drams (about 2.25 million dollar) of outstanding loans for the fall and spring of previous years. Government required returning the granted loans for the autumn sowing till October 15. Farmers, who will return loans, will use public assistance.
Despite a number of objective and subjective problems, according to the program of the NKR new government in the field of agriculture, which is the basis of food security of the NKR, 12 to 15 percent annual growth is scheduled.
