After the publication of the primary results of exit polls by the proportional system of parliamentary elections in Georgia, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili addressed the nation. He thanked all those who took part in the elections. According to him, in the proportional election won “Georgian Dream”, and in majority districts in the region won “United National Movement”.
“Soon it will be clarified who won a majority in parliament, but we can already say that the elections were held successfully. The Georgian authorities managed to make such transparent elections, as promised. In the regions of Georgia, according to preliminary information, the leader is “United National Movement”, but that does not mean that we divide the country into regions and the capital – we are all Georgians. As a president, I will guarantee the transition to the new parliament will be safe and in compliance with the law, “- said Saakashvili.
