Head of the NKR Public Council for Foreign Policy and Security, Masis Mailyan, had an interview with our journalist concerning the situation in NKR.
During the interview he talked about the newly organized “Constitutional Artsakh” civil movement.
“As you know in NKR, in 2007 and 2012, there were presidential elections, and I think that the elections were illegal, since an illegal mechanism is working among the authorities. We have the same image concerning 2005 Parliamentary elections, also held in NKR.
I should recall that in 2006, the Artsakhi citizens accepted Constitution. Despite the fact that according to the Constitution, power in the Republic of Artsakh belongs to people, the current ruling circles strive to establish and improve the anti-constitutional system which deprives the public of any possibility to elect authorities and provides continuous reproduction of power” stressed Mailyan.
To the question why they organized a civil movement, but not a political party? he responded:
“There is a slight difference between the political party and the civil movement, which we have established. With the civil movement we can make the authorities not to do illegal steps, and help people to create authorities by legal elections.”
Note, some days earlier “Constitutional Artsakh” civil movement has made its first announcements, and among the initiators of the movement are: former NKR presidential candidate, member of the parliament, Vitally Balasanyan, former NKR Deputy Foreign Minister, head of the Public Council for Foreign Policy and Security, Masis Mailyan, head of Stepanakert Press Club Gegham Baghdasaryan and member of the NKR parliament, Vahan Badasyan.
