On Thursday at a meeting with Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Iranian Vice President, Chairman of the Cultural Heritage and Culture organisation of Iran Seyed Hassan Mousavi said that Iran and Azerbaijan are brothers, and no one can set them at variance.
“Our enemies are concerned about the deep historical relations between Iran and Azerbaijan,” Mousavi said.
Trend news agency reports that Iran has always encouraged the position of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The statement of the Non-Aligned Movement summit also stressed support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
“Friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have always been strong and will be so in the future,” Mousavi said.
Sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazade will visit Iran by the invitation of Mousavi. Sheikh-ul-islam expressed his gratefulness to the Iranian side for the liberation of the Azerbaijani poets. As some minor issues are gradually being resolved, there are no problems between the countries. Pashazade added that the aim of Armenia is to split the two countries from each other.
