Answering the question of Russia 24 Television Company about the achievements to guarantee reelection in the upcoming elections, the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said that they have achieved the creation of open society in Armenia.
It was noted that according to the research results the Russian media possess, the incumbent president has a great chance to win the elections. “In fact, I think I have a good chance to gain the trust of people and get reelected for the second term,” replied Serzh Sargsyan.
When talking about achievements, the president added that in Armenia, just like in many other countries, especially developing ones, many unsolved issues still exist.
“At the same time, we were able to open our society during this period. In my opinion, we have an open society now in Armenia: people openly discuss the authorities, there is a political competition. I think, our media feels free too,” said Sargsyan, adding that though the media, as in other countries, complain, but a lot of work has been done in that direction.
