According to the information of “First News and Analyses”, two weeks ago by the President’s request Samvel Karapetyan (Tashir Samo) during his stay in Armenia constantly tried to convince Tsarukyan not to run in the presidential election, but the latter did not agree. Samvel Karapetyan described Tsarukyan’s nomination as inhuman and immoral.
We have learned that S. Karapetyan was in Armenia to participate in the wedding of Gagik Beglaryan’s daughter, he was the godfather of that wedding. Note that he is in family relations with Tsarukyan, being his daughter’s godfather too.
Two days later, when Karapetyan left Armenia and the PAP delegation was back from Brussels, on December 12 G. Tsarukyan annpopunced that he will neither run, nor support another candidate. After that Karapetyan took offense at Tsarukyan that the latter did not fulfill his request, but then suddenly abandoned his candidacy for the nomination. A few days later, Tsarukyan tried to call Samvel Karapetyan, but he didn’t return his calls.
