Russian Ambassador to Ankara Vladimir Ivanovski in the interview with reporters commented Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Istanbul on December 3, where he will take part in the Russian-Turkish High Level Cooperation Council’s third session.
“Relations between Russia and Turkey are now on a multi-level partnership, and in the energy sector on the level of strategic partnership. The meeting of Putin and Erdogan in Istanbul will be the 30th after 2004, when the Russian president visited Turkey.
Over the last 10 years, Turkey is in the list of top ten largest trading partners of Russia. Russia also occupies an important place in the Turkish trade and economic cooperation. This year sales growth, compared to the previous year, increased by 12-14 per cent.
Turkish investments in Russia amount 4.5 billion dollars, while investments of Russia in Turkey- about 3 billion dollars. We have started the implementation of the largest investment project of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant at Akkuyu territory.”
