Armenian National Congress parliamentary party was collecting signatures to appeal to the constitutional court. During today’s press conference head of the ANC Levon Zurabyan announced that the ANC will challenge the mismatch of some of the provisions of the NA Rules with the NA Constitution.
Particularly, Article 70 of the RA Constitution of to convene a special session of the National Assembly also by the signatures of 44 members, and Article 71 of the Constitution stipulates that decisions can be taken at a special meeting by the majority of the participating members. However, the NA regulation law set a quorum to begin a special session.
ANC members believe that this regulation does not coincide with the RA supreme law, Constitution.
27 signatures are needed to appeal to the constitutional court. ANC MPs Levon Zurabyan and Gagik Jhangiryan have so far signed.
