Today the head of the mother and child health care section of the Ministry of Health in Armenia, Karine Saribekyan reported Mediamax that from 1990-2010 the child death percentage reduced by 53%. According to the numbers she presented Armenia registered 13 death cases out of 1000 births in 2006-2010, and 24 death cases in 2001-2005. A reduce in the death of up to 5 years old children is significant too: 16 out of 27 death cases in 1000 births.
Saribekyan informed the mother death cases have reduced too, indicating the indexes of 2008 (28 mother death cases) and 2010 (only 3 death cases).
As the WHO expert in Europe Gunta Lazdane states, mother death cases reduce in Armenia but the speed is too slow.
