Ruben Tovmasyan, the first secretary of the Communist Party Central Committee, had a press conference and said that today is the day when Armenia became part of the Soviet Union.
Congratulating the 92th anniversary of the union, Tovmasyan stressed that the Soviet system saved all Armenians from destruction.
According to him, back in 20s the situation in Armenia was terrible, everything was dull and no one could live there and added that due to being part of Soviet Union, Armenians and our country survived.
Tovmasyan said that at that time there were a lot of murders, people were starving, and didn’t have any jobs and education
“I should stress that in Soviet times Yerevan had 60.000 students and there wasn’t the idea of poor people. Everyone was equal, they had jobs, and they were living, not surviving. What happened after Soviet Union was clashed? Some people became the richest people since they stole everything in Armenia.
Currently about 1 million and 300 thousand people are poor, they don’t have jobs, and everything is bad. The worst thing is that our nation is running from Armenia! They don’t see any future here,” said Tovmasyan, adding “Instead of developing our country, the current government is making ant-soviet actions. They have given all the resources to other. This is very wrong since Armenia doesn’t have that much resource. Due to us the population of Yerevan increased from 35 thousand, to 1.5 million. The current government will leave nothing after them, but bad remarks which negatively influences on our nation”.
Talking about upcoming presidential elections, Tovmasyan stressed that in order to participate in it, one must have a lot of resource, so they may be not be able to participate.
According to him they won’t support any other candidate, since, as Tovmasyan said, they will have the same regime.
In the end he stressed that only the socialist system will restore Armenia.
