As it was reported yesterday, the employees of “Nairit” plant were out at the Presidential residence with the requirement to give their 11 months’ salary. “Nairit” was sold last time in 2006 when the 90% of the share got “Rainovil property limited” company. This company is not only incompetent to own the greatest share of the company but also has nothing to do with rubber production. Ever since the plant was the property of this incognito company, the talks about who the company belongs to have never stopped.
Is it a free enterprise or it has the high officials standing behind its back? As Armine Avetyan states in her political analysis some sources say that the company has the previous and current high officials behind its back. She states the previous president has his official or non-official share in the owning shares of the plant because the owning of the plant took place during his presidency and the final agreement would not have been reached in case he did not want to. According to other sources the head of the PAP Tsarukayn wants to own the plant too.
Avetyan states that the acquisition of a plant deep in debts in case having modern technologies to function would be a great profitable aspect not only for the owner but for the country as a whole because it is one of the few plants that produces chloroprene rubber also taking into consideration the fact that a couple of plants engaged in the same substance production have been closed down and the market has become freer.
In reality, as Avetyan says, there has been made an artificial situation where an artificial company which buys the rubber in half the price and sells it twice more expensive gets the lion’s share of the profit from the business. That is why “Nairit” is always in debts, cannot support its own workers and pay their salaries on time, Avetyan concludes.
