According to the First News and Analyses reliable sources the deputy president of the PAP Samvel Balasanyan did not participate in the meeting for the heads of regional organizations with Gagik Tsarukyan participating. The candidacy issues were discussed during the meeting and as Balasanyan now supports a RP member he restrained from participating in the meeting.
Balasanyan’s situation will be most confusing in case PAP comes up with its candidate. In that case Balasanyan will have to support Tsarukyan or a joint candidate the PAP agrees on. It is not excluded Balasayan leave the PAP and become a Republican.
