On November 22, in Tavrikyan palace in St. Petersburg took place the Council meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, with the participation of leaders and parliaments of the member states of the CSTO and Security Councils Secretaries. From the Armenian side were present the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan and the National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan. Member-secretaries of the security councils exchanged ideas and views on the issues of the agenda.
Within the framework of the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly the NA President met with the head of Kazakh Senate Speaker Kayrat Mami. Mr. Mami congratulated the re-election of the NA president, noting that the activation of the inter-parliamentary cooperation will greatly contribute to the further development of bilateral relations, stressing in this context, that Armenia is an important partner for Kazakhstan.
RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the development of effective mechanisms for the formation of new opportunities and using the activation of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
During the meeting the sides also discussed regional issues and other issues of mutual interest. The NA President invited the head of the Senate of Kazakhstan on an official visit to Armenia.
