MP Hovhannes Margaryan, vice-president of “Rule of Law” party, today had a press-conference and announced that their political party in the upcoming presidential elections will support Serzh Sargsyan, current president of Armenia.
“Our leader Arthur Baghdasaryan , about 5 years ago had already announced that our party will support Serzh Sargsyan, and nothing was changed in our plans. During the last presidential elections, in 2008, everything was clear long before the elections but currently only some candidates have been nominated for the presidential elections. The discussions are held very actively and I think after 2 weeks everything will be clear and we will know who will be the candidates. I should recall that during last elections ANC offered a candidate and lot of oppositional powers supported the congress but we don’t know what will happen this time.
Our nation doesn’t look after the political party they want a single candidate and the time is so short that nothing serious can be changed in the decision of our nation” said the vice-president of “Rule of Law” party.
Margaryan also touched upon the announcement made by PAP and according to him now it isn’t the right time to talk about their offer.
Note, PAP suggests Armenia to accept the parliamentary government regime.
“I think that for Armenia now the main important issue is the upcoming elections. PAP’s offer can be discussed in the future, however, I should stress that in order to realize their suggestion a long period of time is needed” said Margaryan.
