Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has refused to vacate the residence in Tbilisi, as demanded Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili. This was stated by the press-secretary of the President Manana Manjgaladze.
“The presidential palace is the presidential palace, not Saakashvili’s private property. This building is designed for the president’s working,” – she said.
Previously Ivanishvili offered Georgian leader to move to the State Office Building, where, as the Prime Minister noted, a whole floor will be allocated to him. The Prime Minister said that the content of the presidential palace costs too much to the state budget. Prime Minister promised to send the savings to the needy.
Residence of the president of Georgia is located in Avlabari district of Tbilisi. Its construction was carried out from 2004 to 2009.
