Armenia participated in the inter-parliamentary commission’s 127th assembly in Quebec where the issues of citizenship, identity, linguistic and cultural diversity in the globalized world were touched upon. Heghine Bisharyan from the Armenian delegation condemned Azerbaijani policy on human rights pointing to the resent events in Budapest after which the murderer Ramil Safarov was recognized a national hero. Azerbaijan in its turn emphasized the achievements they have had in the sphere of human rights and ethnic minority issues. After the assembly the Hungarian delegation by the authority of Laslo Horvat, apologized to the Armenian side and expressed their readiness to restart the diplomatic relations between the two countries on the members of parliament level to which Armenian response was that no such prospects were being issues at the current time. Previously Azerbaijan had applied for the right to hold next summit, however Ilham Aliev’s proposal was rejected.
