On August 1st the Ambassador of Armenia to Argentina Vahagn Meliqyan met with the Mayor of San Isidro, Doctor Gustavo Pose. The leader of the Armenian Apostolic church in Argentina and Chile Archbishop Gisak Muradyan, representatives of different bodies and organizations of Argentinean-Armenian community and members of the San Isidro city Hall were present at the meeting.
During the meeting different questions were discussed concerning mutual relations and the possible field of partnership. The Ambassador especially stressed the relations between sister-cities, and this was important for Gustavo Pose as well. Meliqyan invited Pose to Armenia to get acquainted with cultural heritage of Armenia and discuss further questions of cooperation. The invitation was accepted. They touched upon the bill that was accepted by the city council of San Isidro concerning the recognition and judgment of Armenian Genocide from 1918-1923.
A press-conference took place at the end of the meeting during which the Ambassador and the Mayor answered the journalists’ questions.
