Georgian elections brought new political reality to the region, said political expert Andrias Ghukasyan in the interview with journalists speaking on opposition’s victory in Georgia. Andrias Ghukasyan qualified the elections as essential event which enables Georgia to be considered democratic and legitimate country in the region.
“This is a new reality for the region, reality when a post-soviet country with difficult past overcomes the criminal world and establishes a new political system. Georgia will have two-party political system though the passing period is not yet over, but the will to keep stability is obvious.”- said the expert.
He went on elaborating: “Both parties accept supremacy of law and the necessity to keep democratic values, which is the very base of political system”- commented the expert making a supposition that Saahakshvili will resign sooner than expected.
In a joint conference expert Shushan Khatlamajyan said that nobody needs Saahakashvili as the new power protects everything that is essential. “He also confesses that the statuses of Southern Ossetia and Abkhazia are unacceptable, accepts the guilt of Sahakashvili in the loss of 20% of country’s territory.”- noted the expert.
