Commenting on Georgian opposition’s victory in parliamentary elections, political figure Davit Shahnazaryan expressed his viewpoint in the interview with Aravot.am saying that today Georgia passed an important historical exam. According to Mr. Shahnazaryan this first of all means that reforms are going on in Georgia including democratic ones. “This is a real chance for Georgia to establish undeniable democracy. The opposition came to power through elections. According to Georgia’s new constitution the highest rank is that of PM which is appointed by the parliament. A too important fact for the region, the power changed due to elections.”
To the question whether or not such change is possible in Armenia, Mr. Shahnazaryan answered. “Let it be so. We are destined to repeat Georgia’s example but God knows when. Judging on present situation, serious challenges and quakes are ahead.”
On Russia’s interference on opposition’s victory in Georgia Davit Shahnazaryan said that Georgian society has overcome that point.
