PACE autumn session starts in Strasbourg today. The Armenian delegation, headed by Davit Harutyunyan already left for Strasbourg.
The session, along with a number of issues, will also include the problem of Ramil Safarov, which will be discussed on October 4.
Today at the session member of the Armenian delegation Zaruhi Postanjyan said the Armenian community in Turkey prepared a report for the Turkish Education Minister Omer Denser. In the report the community demands a concrete setting of the educational process for the community of national minority and to eliminate the application of the principles of the Turkish state schools.
The Armenian delegation wanted to know how they perceive this issue and Albanian Foreign Minister answered the question raised by a member of our delegation. “The organization of the country’s education system is under the jurisdiction of Turkish authorities. The European Council’s viewpoint is that the organization of the educational system should be coordinated with the European Convention on Human Rights. The issue you raised is to be determined by the European Court of Human Rights, not by the Council of Ministers. ”
