Trend News Agency reports, press secretary of President of Georgia Manana Manjgaladze said at a press briefing that parliamentary elections have been appointed on October 1,2012, by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.
Till the elections remain two months, and the day of elections, which falls on Monday, will be declared as a day off.
President Saakashvili is sure that the coming elections will be a demonstration of democracy in Georgia and progress of the state and encouraged people to take an active part in the elections.
The News Agency also noted the words of Manjgaladze : “Georgia has done much to improve the pre-election situation in the country, numerous observers from various international organizations were attracted, a commission to refine the lists of voters was established, the mast-Kerr system was provided, broadcasting of all television stations in the cable network is ensured, norms of behavior of parties during the election period developed.
