Georgian media reports that a U.S. observation missions arrived in Georgia in order to monitor parliamentary elections on October 1.
As reported, the president of International Republican Institute, Kenneth Wollack, announced that firstly the choice has to be made by the Georgian people.
“A fair and transparent process is important for us, not the election results. These elections have to be held in a competitive environment and voters have to be able to make their choice. We are here to support the choice of Georgians” said Wollack.
The mission consists of representatives from seven countries: the former and acting members of the US Congress, former diplomats and members of parliament, representatives of non-governmental organizations and regional experts.
