“It’s just an initiative, what aims it pursues shall become evident in future. I just think this initiative shall lead nowhere; the commission will not be created or in the best scenario will repeat the old one. What Nikoyan’s commission reached everyone saw. Probably to create a commission like that Armenia’s domestic political setting needed to have been changed which did not take place. To come up with un initiative which won’t’ come true or coming true will repeat the already-existed one I see no use.
Any initiative needs to have the goal of exploring the March 1 events. That initiative can’t bring to any exploration since it’s a parliamentary one and has no rights of an investigative body to lead the process to investigation. It needs to be taken into account that two persons in the current parliament Grigor Grigoryan and Vardan Oskanian played a huge role in March 1 events being members of Robert Kocharyan’s headquarters. There’s another member of parliament from Prosperous Armenia who lead the interior forces and because of whose illegal orders three persons have died. There are many businessmen in this parliament who made use of their resources during the March 1 incident. One simply needs to be aloof to understand no results can be reached with this parliament. “, Andranik Grigoryan former member of the March 1 investigative commission told this in his interview to “1in.am news and Analyses”.
Recall that earlier “1in.am news and Analyses” had questioned Naira Zohrabyan (MP from Proserous Armenia) on their position concerning the new March 1 commission to which Zohrabyan reported them being supportive of the investigation.
Kocharyan commented on the statement from Zohrabyan, noting that Zohjrabyan and other members of parliament who took part in the processes of the March 1 commission early need to state whether their opinions have changed so far meaning that Prosperous Armenia has been part of the ruling elite in the country and currently evidently supporting Robert Kocharyan.
