Georgian media, citing the announcement of Foreign Ministry, reports that in absence of diplomatic relations with Russia, it is impossible to ensure safe participation of Georgian citizens living in Russia in October 1 elections.
Deputy Foreign Minister, Nino Kalandadze, stated at a briefing that the Georgian section of the Swiss embassy in Moscow does not operate properly and it causes problems.
“In the Georgian section of the Embassy of Switzerland in Moscow, local authorities often switch off electricity and we are limited in the ability to provide the representatives of political parties Russian visas.”, said Kalandadze and added:
“Georgian citizens living in Russia will not be able to participate in the parliamentary elections, scheduled for October 1”
