Georgian media, georgionline.org, citing the statement announced from Georgian Dream, reports that Georgian Dream welcomes joint statement of EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton and Štefan Füle, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood.
“We absolutely agree that the consolidation of democracy, the participation of the different sectors of the population in public life and the distribution of the results of economic reforms among the citizens are the unresolved issues in Georgia” –writes the statement.
As reported, the opposition bloc agrees that the main problems of the electoral process are selective enforcement of law, dependence of the state institutions on the government and unfair treatment of political opponents.
The source informs that in the end Bidzina Ivanishvili stressed that the responsibility lies with both the government and the opposition to ensure a proper conduct and therefore legitimacy of the elections.
