Today, on September 4, a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Eduard Nalbandyan and Hector Marcos Timerman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, who paid an official visit to Armenia, was held.
Greeting the guests ,Eduard Nalbandyan made the following speech:
“This year we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Argentina.
We give a great importance to the development of Armenia-Argentina cooperation and as a proof I can mention a fact, that in Argentina we were the first country which opened an Embassy there, and Argentina, in its turn, opened the first Embassy in Armenia from the countries of South Caucasus.
Other facts also prove our friendship. For example, Argentina was the first country, with which Armenia abolished the visa regime. Everything metioned above proves one more time that there is strong cooperation between our two countries.
I should stress that Argentina is one of the countries which is doing major investments in Armenia”, said Nalbandyan.
Expressing gratitude to Armenian side for the visit and warm welcome, Timmerman said: “Argentina wants to deepen the cooperation with Armenia and to raise the level of inter-state cooperation”.
As reported, Eduard Nalbandyan presented Armenian policy on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the high-level Argentinean official, and the latter agreed that the only way to solve this problem is through peaceful negotiations.
In the end both Nalbandyan and Timmerman had interviews with the journalists.
