“168 Hours” writes that yesterday, Russian Foreign Ministry finally reacted to the fact of extraditing Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan and then honoring him with freedom. In the announcement made by the official representative of RA FM Alexander Lukashevich it is said that Russia is worried by Baku’s justifying and freeing Safarov as well as Hungary’s decision.
“Russia, as a member of OSCE Minsk Group regulating Karabakh conflict, is highly disappointed by Hungary’s decision to extradite the murderer having heinously axed Armenian officer in 2004 and punished to life-imprisonment and by Azerbaijan’s decree that gifted pardon to Safarov. This act of Azerbaijani and Hungarian authorities is opposed to OSCE Minsk Group efforts to weaken the pressure in the region. We expect that corresponding reaction of OSCE Minsk Group will be heard in near future.”- it is said in the official website of RF FM.
“It is remarkable that Russian reaction was heard only three days after Safarov’s extradition and on the level of official representative, not of Foreign Minister or deputy minister,” – adds the paper.
