The Russian Foreign Ministry reports that on April 13, the Iranian side initiated a telephone conversation between the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Iran, Sergey Lavrov and Hossein Amir Abdolahian.
According to the report, the parties discussed the situation in the Middle East. The Russian side has once again strongly condemned the Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1.
It was emphasized that any attacks on diplomatic and consular facilities, the immunity of which is guaranteed by the relevant Vienna Conventions, are strictly unacceptable, as well as political assassinations.
The mutual commitment to maintaining a high level of coordination of current issues of the international and regional agenda was confirmed.
Both sides emphasized their interest in political and diplomatic cooperation and the consistent growth of trade and economic cooperation, including in the fields of transport and logistics.
