The Times writes that the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Great Britain, Admiral Tony Radakin, announced that the Russian defense in Ukraine turned out to be stronger than the West expected, which is why the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian armed forces is proceeding at a slower pace than the Allies anticipated.
He said that the expectations of what Ukraine can achieve in the short term should be revised since the counteroffensive did not lead to the decisive breakthrough that many hoped for at the beginning of the summer. However, the West should be “cautious about making hasty judgments about the counteroffensive,” warned Radakin.
