The Foreign Ministry of Turkey addressed the problem of the Latin Corridor and issued a statement.
In particular, it is said in the statement, “Turkey closely follows the ongoing debates over the Lachin road and understands Azerbaijan’s legitimate concern. Unfortunately, these concerns, which Azerbaijan has been voicing for a long time, were not considered. As a result, Azerbaijan took the measures it deemed appropriate within its sovereign rights.
Turkey thinks that the criticism of Azerbaijan regarding the Lachin Road is unjustified. The fact that there are currently medical crossings on the Lachin road and other routes suitable for transporting bulk materials shows that the Azerbaijani side is conscientiously making maximum efforts.
Our expectation from Armenia is to avoid provocative steps, to recognize the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, to support the Aghdam-Khankendi and other alternative routes to meet the needs of the Armenian population of Karabakh, as well as to support the reintegration efforts of the Armenian population of Azerbaijan.
Turkey believes that to ensure peace and stability in the region, it is necessary to support the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and humanitarian efforts of friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan and avoid actions that aggravate the situation.”
