At a daily press conference, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller spoke about the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace negotiations and the latest Azerbaijani aggression in Artsakh.
“We are deeply concerned about the loss of life in Nagorno-Karabakh and express our condolences to the families of all the victims. These recent incidents emphasize the need to avoid hostilities and establish a lasting and dignified peace.
The United States is committed to supporting the parties in achieving this goal, and Secretary Blinken is directly involved in the peace process. Direct dialogue is critical to solving problems and achieving lasting and dignified peace. Yesterday’s meetings with the foreign ministers were constructive, and we continue to build on those discussions today and tomorrow as the peace talks continue. This is something we will continue to work on.”
