Airbus, the world’s leading aircraft manufacturer, has sold a Chinese-made aircraft to a European buyer for the first time. This was reported by “Xinhua” news agency.
The A321neo sold was assembled at a factory in Tianjin, China. The buyer is the Hungarian company Wizz Air, one of the largest low-cost carriers in Central and Eastern Europe.
The A321neo is the largest aircraft in the Airbus A320 family. It can accommodate 244 passengers. Airbus’s Tianjin plant opened in 2008 and is the company’s first complete assembly line outside Europe. Over 600 A320 series aircraft have left this factory in 14 years.
