The State Revenue Committee (SRC) says its Department of Investigations recovered more than 23 billion drams as part of criminal proceedings in 2022. It said that the number is “unprecedented”.
“For comparison, in 2021 around 5 billion dram was recovered, in 2020 around 2,5 billion drams, in 2019 around 5,8 billion drams, in 2018 around 8,5 billion drams, and in 2017 around 8,5 billion drams in damages to the state,” the SRC said.
The investigations concerned imports-exports, mining, services, trade, property sales, customs smuggling and other areas.
