Co-president of Armenian Astronomical Society Areg Miqaelyan had a press conference and announced that Armenia doesn’t have any mechanism to keep intelligentsia in the country.
He stressed that Armenian MPs get 300 thousand AMD a month which is much higher than the average salary in Armenia.
Miqaelyan stressed that scientists get only 60 thousand AMD, noting that their job is much more important and responsible. “All of us follow RA NA sessions and there are only 15 MPs who actively work, the others just come, or even not come and get their money. The scientists should think over and over again. This is ridiculous. What can they do? Armenian government doesn’t’ treat them the way they deserve, they don’t respect our intelligentsia” saind Miwaelyan.
Talking on the money which will be supplied to science field from state budget, Miwayelyan stressed that the discussion were good but in order to realize it another 15-20 years are needed and added that our youth won’t wait that much and will leave the country, like all others do.
