Head of the PAP Prosperous Armenia Party) Youth Branch, MP Vahe Enfiajyan in his interview to “1in.am News and Analyses’ noted that the issue of ANC (Armenian National Congress) young activists should be viewed in the legal context only. He, thus, clarified that PAP doesn’t view the young people as political prisoners.
The situation, now, becomes to a certain degree awkward in sense ANC has declared not to criticize PAP. Interesting is the notion that, otherwise, if any political force does not condemn actions against young activists, does not declare them being political prisoners would receive the whole criticism from ANC. Still, the case is different: ANC keeps silent for PAP, imaged as Armenia’s last resort for democracy.
The notion, however, needs no further comment; facts speak for themselves. Nevertheless, part of Armenia’s society interested in the country’s democratic future should now make judgments on how honest ANC’s behavior towards the citizens is in the context of such nice treatment towards PAP, and harsh criticism of any force not in line with ANC’s wording.
