“Georgia Online” informs that the Central Election Commission of Georgia is ready for parliamentary elections, which is scheduled for October 1 2012. This was announced by the president of CEC Zurab Xaratishvili.
“I can take all the responsibilities and announce that CEC is ready to hold the parliamentary elections at high level, because we have enough time, finance, human and financial resources in order to organize that process in a proper way. Even though the elections will be held on Monday, which is a working day, most likely it will not affect the elections negatively. Such experiences have been in Europe and nothing serious happened”.
At this particular moment, 32 political subjects have applied to CEC, 5 of which have already been registered.
As for the political parties that have representatives in Parliament, they have to apply to the Central Election Commission before the deadline, August 5 till 18.00 pm.”
