In 2012 the total amount of noncommercial bank transfers to individuals in Armenia will grow by 10-12% instead of the previous forecast 9-12%. This is stated in the monetary program of the Central Bank of Armenia in the third quarter of this year.
In the period from January to July 2012 the total amount of remittances to Armenia totaled 664.5 million dollar, which is by 8.2% more than in 2011. Simultaneously increased the amount of noncommercial bank transfers to individuals from the country – 131.9 million dollar (growth – 9.2%). Thus the net inflow of transfers to the country in the first six months of 2012 was 532.6 million dollar (by 8% more than in 2011).
Among donor-countries of transfers, Russia is the leader -83%, in the second place is the United States -5.3%, the third – Ukraine 1.3%. Shares of other countries are negligible.
