53 Syrian-Armenians have applied to the Migration service during this year, from January to August, in order to receive refugee status in Armenia.
Ruzanna Petrosyan, the general responsible of the shelter problems, told “1in.am News and analyses” that 40 people out of 53 were placed in shelters but the others were not as they did not ask for shelters.
“The Syrian-Armenians write about what kind of problems they have and we try to help them as much as possible.” Said Ruzanna Petrosyan and added that the majority of the mentioned people are children and women.
She also mentioned that in case of applying to the State Migration station, they will get 3 months term time, in order to stay in Armenia legally.
The head of Ministry of Territorial Administration and the Migration Agency, Gagik Yeganyan, in his turn told “1in.am news and analyses” that everything is done for Syrian-Armenians not to face any problems in Armenia.
